Couples, Relationships & Family Therapy

Couples and Relationship Therapy

There are many reasons why couples or people in relationships might seek therapy. They may be struggling with communication patterns, stuck in habitual patterns of relating, they might find themselves in conflict more than they would like or they may be struggling with parenting or life transitions such as illnesses, births, deaths or moves. Couples may also struggle with talking about certain topics such as sex and money. There is no right or wrong reason to seek therapy when you’re in a relationship. Things might be extremely challenging or you may feel solid in your relationship and just want to understand each other or explore certain dynamics further.

Our skilled therapists will help you understand the patterns that you find yourselves in and support you to find more helpful ways of being in relationships.

Family Therapy

Our family therapists understand human distress as something that happens between people rather than within one person. Therefore, when difficulties arise within a member of one’s family, a whole family approach to therapy can be hugely beneficial. If we think of a family as a system, say a car for example, we never take a piece of the car to the mechanics, we always take the whole car, the whole system! Therefore, it makes sense to take the whole family to therapy to understand what might be occurring within and between the family. This in turn can help all family members understand relationship patterns that might be impacting particularly on one member of the family.

We have a team of couple, relationship and family therapists who have extensive training and a range of experience working with relationships
